pp Spatial Documentary Publishing

Spatial Documentary Publishing

The Spatial Documentary Publishing is a non-linear digital publication periodic spatial dossier. Each dossier brings together stereoscopic films, images, text, and Dolby Atmos audio environments, designed for spatial and embodied media environments, independent of specific devices or platforms. Readers navigate in their own sequence, moving through fragments of atmosphere, memory, and site presence at their own pace.

The dossier is released periodically, each issue built from 16K stereoscopic film, spatial sound, photography, and text. Scenes are independent, like articles in an anthology: you choose which one to enter, and each unfolds linearly with its own rhythm and perspective.

spatial cultural environment from a pp Dossier

What is a Dossier?

An dossier is a thoughtfully selected group of spatial environments you can enter. Each scene is filmed on location, such as trails, workshops, rituals, night harbours, or coastal paths, and captured in stereoscopic 180° with spatial audio. Each scene can be enjoyed on its own, but together they create a unified cultural theme.

Dossier feature 8 to 12 scenes, each lasting 10 to 15 minutes, adding up to 80 to 120 minutes of cultural experience. You can watch just one scene or explore the whole collection at your own pace, similar to reading an anthology of short documentaries.

How do you read the Dossier?

Start wherever you want. Choose a scene, and it will unfold like a documentary created by the team. Maybe you’ll start with a temple bell, a mountain trail, or a harbour at night. Each Dossier has a theme, and every scene offers its own mix of images, sounds, and a feeling of closeness.

Navigation is easy. You pick a scene and it starts. There are no sudden jumps, game-like features, or hidden rules. You are welcome to stay, look, and listen. It feels more like being inside a moment than following a regular story.
